Background
Car Free Day in Rwanda promotes health, community, and environmental awareness. We see this as an opportunity not only for physical fitness but also to empower the next generation of young girls through mentorship. Many girls in our communities face challenges related to self-confidence, education, and limited access to role models who can guide their future choices.
Objectives:
1. Promote physical and mental wellbeing through walking.
2. Create a safe space for girls to share experiences and receive guidance.
3. Provide mentorship on education, career, self-confidence, and future planning.
4. Build a network of girls who support and inspire each other.
Target:
• Participants: Girls aged (13–24) from schools and communities.
Activities:
• Walk together during Car Free Day.
• Short group workout/stretch for health.
• Mentorship session (themes: education, leadership, body confidence, life skills).
• Networking with mentors and peers.
Expected Impact
• Girls gain confidence and motivation to pursue their goals.
• Improved physical health through regular walking and exercise.
• Creation of a mentorship circle that supports girls long-term.
• Contribution to building a healthier and more empowered generation of young women.
